Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco | Ollantaytambo – Piscacucho (Km 82) – Llactapata – Wayllabamba- Early morning departure from Cusco to Ollantaytambo, then onward to Piscacucho (Km 82), the starting point of the Inca Trail. Begin trekking through lush valleys, passing the archaeological site of Llactapata. Continue the hike to the first campsite at Wayllabamba, enjoying stunning views of the Andean landscape.
Day 2: Wayllabamba – Warmiwañusca (Dead Woman's Pass) – Pacaymayo
- Start the most challenging part of the trail with a steep ascent to Warmiwañusca, or "Dead Woman's Pass" (4,200m), the highest point of the trek. Enjoy breathtaking views before descending into the Pacaymayo Valley for the second campsite.
Day 3: Pacaymayo – Runkurakay – Phuyupatamarca – Inti Pata – Wiñayhuayna
- Continue the trail with a visit to the circular ruins of Runkurakay, then climb to the second pass (3,950m). Descend to the cloud forest, exploring the Inca ruins of Phuyupatamarca and Inti Pata. Arrive at the final campsite, Wiñayhuayna, surrounded by lush vegetation and ancient terraces.
Day 4: Wiñayhuayna – Inti Punku (Sun Gate) – Machu Picchu – Cusco
- Early morning trek to Inti Punku, the "Sun Gate," where you will catch the first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu at sunrise. Enjoy a guided tour of the iconic Inca citadel, with time to explore on your own. Afterward, descend to Aguas Calientes and take the train back to Cusco, concluding your adventure.
