Itinerary
Huascarán, also known as "Mataraju" in Quechua, is the highest peak in Peru, located in the Cordillera Blanca, Áncash region. Standing at 6,768 meters (22,205 ft), it's the tallest tropical mountain in the world and gives its name to the Huascarán National Park. Each year, many adventurers attempt to summit the southern peak, making it a popular destination for expeditions. To prepare for this challenging climb, it's recommended to acclimatize with a 4-day trek to Nevado Pisco (5,752m) before beginning the Huascarán ascent.Trip Overview

Itinerary
Day 1: Huaraz (3,100m) – Musho (3,042m) – Base Camp (4,200m)
- Private transport from Huaraz to Musho (2 hours), followed by a 5-6 hour hike to Huascarán Base Camp.
Day 2: Base Camp (4,200m) – Moraine Camp (4,700m)
- A 3-hour hike starting at 10:00 am, setting up camp near the glacier.
Day 3: Moraine Camp (4,700m) – Camp I (5,300m)
- Begin hiking at 8:00 am, reaching the glacier and setting camp after 3-4 hours.
Day 4: Camp I (5,300m) – Camp II (6,000m)
- A 4:00 am start, ascending through the avalanche zone to reach Camp II after 5-6 hours.
Day 5: Camp II (6,000m) – Huascarán Summit (6,768m)
- At midnight, start climbing to the summit, with a return to Moraine Camp or Base Camp, depending on your physical condition (10-12 hours).
Day 6: Moraine Camp / Base Camp – Musho – Huaraz
- Descend for 4-5 hours to Musho, where private transport will take you back to Huaraz.
Day 7: Reserve Day
- This day is optional and can be used in case of bad weather or other delays.
